COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
A Comprehensive Plan serves as a roadmap for the sustainable growth and development of Rockdale. It outlines our vision, goals, and strategies for enhancing infrastructure, promoting economic vitality, preserving our natural resources, and fostering a high quality of life for all residents. Through community engagement and collaboration, we’re shaping a vibrant and resilient Rockdale for generations to come.
The Rockdale Mid-Century Comprehensive Plan was done by the team of Freese & Nichols and Ash + Lime. Work began on the plan in Spring 2023 and was adopted by the Rockdale City Council in July 2024.
This plan document also included the Parks Master Plan.
Economic Development
At the Rockdale Municipal Development District, we are committed to driving growth and prosperity in Rockdale and beyond. Our economic development strategic plan outlines targeted initiatives and investment priorities aimed at attracting new businesses, supporting existing industries, and creating job opportunities.
The key objective of the strategic plan is to work to reduce investment risk in Rockdale, creating a virtuous cycle of investment and local tax base growth which provides the city the resources needed to make investment back into the community.
