Fresh off moving its headquarters to Austin, solar cell manufacturer T1 Energy plans to open a solar cell manufacturing plant in Milam County. G2_Austin, as the facility is called, has a $510 million first phase that will create up to 1,800 jobs, with production expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
